Traveling from Mumbai to Goa during the monsoon turned out to be one of those trips that don’t go as planned but still stay in your heart forever.
My journey began at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji (BOM) Airport, which surprisingly felt smaller and not as clean as expected. But the unusual charm was right outside the terminal — local vendors selling Barapaw and cutting chai, just like a mini railway station scene! It’s something you rarely find near big airports, and it instantly reminded me of Mumbai’s street spirit.
When I landed in Goa, heavy rain welcomed me with open arms. Though it stopped us from seeing every sight on our list, enjoying the sea in the rain was pure magic. Between the busy Baga Beach and the calm Palolem, Palolem stole the show with its relaxed vibe and cleaner stretch.
Renting a scooty from our hotel was a smart move for short rides and beach hopping. But if you’re traveling with family during monsoon, a car is definitely the better choice.
Planning to visit Dudhsagar Falls? Skip the long road trip — take the train instead! It’s scenic, comfortable, and gives you a front-row view of the iconic waterfall.
And here’s a pro-tip: fly into Dabolim Airport and out from Mopa Airport (or vice versa) to easily explore both North and South Goa.
Goa in the rain isn’t about ticking off every tourist spot — it’s about soaking in the rhythm of the waves, sipping chai by the sea, and collecting memories that stay long after the clouds clear.
